YEREVAN. – With such statesmen, Armenia cannot address the challenges the country faces, opposition Heritage Party spokesperson Hovsep Khurshudyan stated during a press conference that was held at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square on Wednesday.

He noted that quite bizarre and funny assessments were made in connection with the recent events.

“These expressions show that the working authorities are not equivalent in assessing the situation in the country because they themselves attempted to falsify the people’s triumph on February 18,” Khurshudyan noted.

He stressed that there are two acceptable solutions for them. First, if the incumbent President announces that he is stepping down. Second, is a statewide solution which will enable to come out of the current situation; but this cannot be constitutional reforms, since the latter are solely a part of the solution.

“For the people their topic is not closed, and their topic will be resolved by the people,” Heritage’s spokesperson said.

Hovsep Khurshudyan also noted that they have called upon the opposition forces to come and join the people on April 9—that is, when incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan is slated to swear in for a second term—and they will be offered a platform, too.
