YEREVAN.- Prosperous Armenia accused Republican Party of Armenia of “political arrogance” in response to their claims they will not “give in Yerevan” during the upcoming local elections.
“I think it is a political arrogance,” secretary of Prosperous Armenia faction Naira Zohrabyan told reporters on Friday.
“Yerevan is not in the pocket of any political force or group of people to decide whether they can yield it or not. I think it is arrogant to state that the first place in the Yerevan council elections is already predetermined,” she emphasized.
With such an attitude toward Armenian voters, authorities will be faced with serious problems, she added.
“Neither compliments of senior European officials, nor Armenia-EU Association Agreement will save them. We have to admit that there are certain changes after parliamentary elections: we have citizens who are ready to struggle for their votes. I urge the people doing such arrogant statements to consider Armenian citizens’ views. Other position would drive them into a deadlock,” Zohrabyan said
