YEREVAN. – By Friday’s decision of the authorized representative of the Mayor of Armenian capital city Yerevan, the notification that was submitted by citizens Vahagn Hovakimyan and—opposition Armenian National Congress MP—Nikol Pashinyan, and with respect to holding an assembly at Yerevan’s Republic Square on April 9—that is, on the day when President Serzh Sargsyan is slated to swear in for a second term—, from 10am to 10pm, is sanctioned.       

Earlier, Yerevan Municipality had likewise sanctioned the notification by opposition Heritage Party Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan, and with regard to holding an assembly at Yerevan’s Liberty Square also on April 9, but between 11am and 11pm.

On Friday, the Mayor’s authorized representative also sanctioned Martirosyan’s notifications in connection with holding assemblies at Liberty Square, from April 11 to 17.
