YEREVAN.- Armenian composer Martin Vardazaryan said none of the candidates presented a realistic program during the elections, except for Serzh Sargsyan.

“Why do we see only disadvantages of Serzh Sargsyan’s program? Having such programs, we must step by step move to the set goals in internal and foreign politics,” he said.

Speaking about former presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian, composer said sometimes it is difficult for a person to make a step backwards. “I thing he is a clever politician and will use his energy to achieve more serious goals,” he said.

Martin Vardazaryan, as a member of Yerevan’s Council of Elders, spoke about the work carried out by municipality.

“The municipality is working so as not to discuss ambiguous solutions. Any issue always finds its complete solution within the law. I think that the style of the current municipality is the right one,” he said.

The Yerevan Council election is slated for May 5, and the participating political forces will vie for 65 Council seats. The election campaign will kick off on April 7 and come to an end on May 3. May 4 is a no-campaign day.

The Yerevan Council election will be held with proportional lists only.
