YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) introduced a package of draft laws, according to which the inspections in this domain will be conducted in Armenia in line with international standards, and not pursuant to the country’s Law on Inspections.   

The matter of consenting to this legislative package is included in the agenda of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

To note, international civil aviation inspections and the respective functions, studies and tests must be conducted pursuant to the Convention on International Civil Aviation—also known as the Chicago Convention—that was signed in 1944, and to its deriving standards, methodology and procedures.     

Consequently, there was a discrepancy between the laws of Armenia and the international agreements.
