YEREVAN. – The American national currency’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 419.75/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Wednesday; this is a 0.19-percent—or an AMD 0.80—rise from the previous trading session on Tuesday.

As a result, the current exchange rate of the dollar is the highest ever in the country over the course of the past six years and ten months. The last time when the US national currency’s exchange rate was higher in Armenia was on June 19, 2006, when it was AMD 420.92/$1.    

Wednesday’s sales totaled $900,000 at the stock exchange.

The American dollar’s buying exchange rate soared all the way to AMD 419/$1, at the cash foreign currency market of Armenia, and its selling exchange rate is at AMD 420-421/$1.
