ISTANBUL. – Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), the pro-Kurdish “Peace and Democracy Party” (BDP) Central Office, and several mayors in the country sent to Istanbul’s Agos Armenian bilingual weekly their congratulations to the Armenians of Turkey on the occasion of Easter.
In his congratulatory message to the Armenians, CHP Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu specifically said as follows:
“I wish for this holiday to bring peace and stability to them, their families, and to our country.”
In connection with Easter, and by way of Agos, the BDP Central Office congratulated the Armenians in Armenian language.
Messages of congratulations also were extended by several mayors of Istanbul Province, the mayors of Sur and Baglar in Diyarbakir Province, the mayor of Ceylanpinar in Urfa Province, and by the mayor of Siirt
