YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who was declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote and who declared a hunger strike on March 10 at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square—will end his hunger strike on Sunday, when Easter will be celebrated.
During a press conference that was held Friday at the square, Hovannisian informed that he will end his “fasting” on Sunday morning, go to church, and spend the day with his family.
He assured, however, that he will return to Liberty Square very shortly and hold numerous talks with his supporters and the people.
Raffi Hovannisian added that stands ready to not only “die for the country, but also to live and wage a struggle.”
