YEREVAN. – Rescue Service of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call, on Monday at 12:38am, informing that a road accident had occurred nearby the bridge of Noratus village, in Gegharkunik Region, and that rescuers were needed.
A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the area, the Rescue Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The emergency medical service likewise was informed about this incident.
It was found out that a VAZ 2106-model vehicle had gone off road, for yet unknown reasons, and rolled over.
Before the fire and rescue squad arrived at the scene, however, the emergency medical service personnel transferred driver Edgar Aghababyan, 31—who had sustained injuries—to Gavar city medical center, where his health condition was diagnosed as very critical and, subsequently, he was taken to capital city Yerevan’s Surb Grigor Lusavorich [Saint Gregory the Illuminator] Medical Center where, however, Aghababyan died as a result of the severe injuries he had sustained.
