YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan on Monday submitted, to the capital city Yerevan Mayor, a notification with respect to holding a rally on April 9, Armenian News-NEWS.am has ascertained from Yerevan Municipality.

But considering that numerous measures of protocol and meetings are planned for the same day, and in connection with the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Armenia, the holding of the aforesaid march with the route that is noted in the notification can create significant difficulties for the implementation the aforementioned measures of protocol.     

“Taking into account the fact that a Constitutionally envisioned important state event, the inauguration of the President of the Republic [of Armenia], is necessarily accompanied by numerous other measures of protocol, the Yerevan Mayor’s authorized representative on Thursday decided to partially curtail the chance of holding a march,” Yerevan Municipality informed.
