YEREVAN. – The electoral processes in Armenia were held under the attention of the international community, and therefore the election course cannot have a negative impact on the external political processes. On the contrary, there were positive reactions only, ruling Republican Party MP, National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Chairman Artak Zakaryan said during a press conference on Friday.   

In his words, the post-presidential-election developments in the country need to be observed as a domestic political matter. Zakaryan also stated that Armenia’s political opposition is unable to wage a classical struggle. 

“A struggle also means defeat,” he noted.     

Artak Zakaryan added that the capital city Yerevan Council elections—which are slated for May 5—will be conducted openly, transparently and with a level playing field, and that the voting results will be summed up in a civilized manner.
