YEREVAN.- Armavia air company has not paid the salary to its employees for 3 months.

The Armenian government is going to sell one of Armavia aircrafts to repay the debts, a source close to government told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the source, the decision was made during the Thursday discussion.

Armavia Airline Company, which is Armenia’s national carrier, issued a statement recently and informed that its flights will end on Monday and a bankruptcy process will commence.  

Armavia has huge debts to its employees, Yerevan’s ZvartnotsInternationalAirport, Russian companies, and Russian airports.

As to refunding for the plane tickets, the passengers are likely to be offered tickets of other air companies. According to the same source, a number of Russian air companies expressed readiness to provide services for the passengers who bought Armavia tickets.
