YEREVAN.- Armenia’s Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan planted an apricot tree at the opening ceremony of a special apricot orchard established within the framework of “Preservation and use of genetic resources of apricot” program.

The gardeners will cultivate 82 identified apricot varieties.

Sergo Karapetyan underscored importance of the program for development of agriculture in Armenia. Another five apricot orchards will be installed in the country soon. The participants offered to include the territory in a list of special state-protected areas.
