YEREVAN. – Armenian coalition government’s junior partner, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) will take an active part in the forthcoming electoral political developments, and it has introduced a competitive team and platform. RLP Chairman, and National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan stated this during a press conference on Saturday.

In his words, a healthy competitive environment is formed in Armenia, and all political forces are given an equal opportunity to present their election platforms.

Baghdasaryan noted that RLP will run in the capital city Yerevan Council election—which is slated for May 5—to win, and added that this is a competition among individuals.

According to the NSC chief, Armenia’s Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan, who heads RLP’s list for the Yerevan election—and who, as per Baghdasaryan, created an established system of emergency and rescue service in Armenia—is the most competitive candidate for the position of the Mayor of Yerevan.

In Arthur Baghdasaryan’s view, solely Yeritsyan and serving Mayor Taron Margaryan are competitive from all mayoral candidates.
