YEREVAN.- No major upheaval in Armenia’s internal politics is expected, unless Raffi Hovannisian launches an initiative of forming parallel government, political analyst said.
Talking to reporters on Monday, Yervand Bozoyan noted that Hovannisian’s meeting with Serzh Sargsyan will not take place by April 9. Consequently, Hovannisian will take the previously announced move and will declare himself a president.
“In this case, collision is not ruled out,” Bozoyan said. “Serzh Sargsyan believes Raffi Hovannisian’s demands are unrealistic, since the latter demands political posts and holding of early parliamentary elections. According to the incumbent president, if a politician demands a post, he must stop being an opposition representative and join the coalition.”
Politicians are unlikely to reach an agreement, Bozoyan believes.
