YEREVAN.- Armenian lawmakers discussed Carrefour trade chain’s entering Armenian market.

During the discussion of the State Commission of Armenia on Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) program for 2013, MP Samvel Farmanyan asked SCPEC director Artak Shaboyan why the issue evoked a wide response.

Shaboyan explained that the agency learns information related to Carrefour from media.

The answer did not satisfy the deputy from the Armenian National Congress Nikol Pashinyan who asked why SCPEC is not holding discussions on Carrefour issue.

In his turn, Shaboyan said they did everything to invite representatives of the company to a debate. Carrefour is a company that can easily come and present the existing problems, he added.
