YEREVAN. – Pursuant to the Constitution of Armenia, Premier Tigran Sargsyan on Tuesday submitted the Government’s resignation to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The PM said it was a great honor for them to work with the President.
“Over the course of these years, our team tried to perform all the tasks that you have set. We have had success and difficulties, alike,” the Prime Minister said.
He also stressed that Serzh Sargsyan’s track-record, knowledge and human characteristics inspire hope that, “our country will develop and have new triumphs.”
After reassuming the office of the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan signed his first decree, and accepted the Government’s resignation; but he asked its members to continue working until the new Government is formed. He also expressed a hope that their joint activity was productive.
“A large cross-section of our citizens is dissatisfied with our work. But I want to make sure for you that the people are dissatisfied from the problems and not the people. You have worked under hard conditions and resolved seemingly impossible problems.
You have coped with the challenges. You have served the Armenian people, and I am confident that you will serve until your deep old age. You have created favorable conditions for the new makeup of the Government. I am confident that the new Government of Armenia will perform the tasks it will set before itself,” Armenia’s President said in particular.
