YEREVAN. – New details have become known with respect to the huge traffic accident that occurred in the Petushinski District of Vladimirskaya Oblast (Region) of Russia, and which claimed the lives of Armenian citizens. 

The Russian Federation National Center for Crisis Management sent information on Tuesday to Armenia’s Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), according to which the passengers of the Gyumri-Moscow flight, which landed on Monday at 6:57pm, had headed to the Russian capital city with a Gazelle-model minibus, MES press service informs.  

But a road accident occurred on the way and nearby Boldino residential area in the Petushinski District. The Gazelle and a Volvo truck crashed and, subsequently, a fire broke out.   

As a result of the collision, eight persons died and another sustained injuries, among whom, Armenian citizen and Gazelle’s driver Armen Vardanyan, 47, was hospitalized. He is in average critical condition.    

As a result of the ill-fated accident, Armenian citizens Zurab Avagyan, 50-year-old Sasunik Sargsyan, and Armenia’s Artik city resident Vardan Vardanyan died on the spot.

The identity of the other victims is being determined.
