YEREVAN. - Armenian opposition continues protest action on Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan downtown. The secretary of Heritage opposition parliament group Zaruhi Postanjyan speaks at the protest action.

In her speech she commented on the ultimatum of Armenian police to vacate the area. According to MP Postanjan, since the morning police agents by themselves have illegally taken away from the people Bagramyan Avenue, completely closing it while the opposition won only part of it. She appealed to the police with the proposal not to take any special action and to allow the audience to wait at the protest action for the rest of the opposition leaders.

Former Armenian presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan proposed to create a free zone, that is, to move police away from the protest action participants and to keep a three-meter buffer zone.

A member of Armenian “Sardarapat” initiative group Tigran Khzmalyan addressing Andreas Ghukasyan, urged him to take the people to Independence Square, symbolic and traditional place for rallies in Armenia, as, according to Khzmalyan, other developments could lead to a police action.

There has been no response to Khzmalyan’s proposal so far.
