YEREVAN. – The health state of Armen Martirosyan—Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Vice-Chairman and the first person in the proportional list of the Heritage-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc that will run in the capital city Yerevan Council election slated for May 5—is normal. Martirosyan himself told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

He noted that he has a nose fracture and bruises, that he received medical at hospital, returned home, and everything is normal.  

“It is not so easy to put me out of action,” he stated.

On Wednesday, Heritage’s vice-chair will have to go to the Police, to provide explanations in connection with several incidents, specifically, with respect to Tuesday’s confrontations between the police and the supporters of Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who was declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote.       

Armen Martirosyan, however, was uninformed as to whether or not criminal proceedings were launched in connection with these incidents.
