Municipality of Beirut decided to name one of the streets after Armenian activist Zhirayr Khachaturian.

The initiative was offered by the Armenian community in Lebanon and ARF Dashnaktsutyun representatives. The street is located in Saifa district of Lebanon’s capital, Azdag daily reported.

This is not the first time that Lebanese street is given an Armenian name. Not only the streets - Armenia, Yerevan, Araks, Marash, but residential buildings - Tigran the Great, Sayat Nova, Komitas, Shiraz are bearing Armenian names.
