YEREVAN. – According to 63.2 percent of the Armenian capital city Yerevan respondents that took part in a survey, serving Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan is considered as the best mayor in the past twenty years. Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan stated this during a press conference on Thursday, but he added that this does not mean there are no problems in Yerevan’s communities.     

He noted that these data were received as a result of the public surveys that were conducted in December 2012 and in March 2013.

In his words, the latest developments will have a negative impact on the rating of opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who was declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote. Adibekyan also noted that, in all likelihood, Hovannisian would have been considered a mayoral candidate.  

The sociologist informed that the aforesaid surveys were requested by the ruling Republican Party and two more parties whose names, however, Aharon Adibekyan did not mention.
