YEREVAN.- It is impossible to build a new capital without preserving the old one, incumbent mayor Taron Margaryan said during his Thursday meeting with voters of Arabkir district.
Margaryan, who is heading the proportional list of тхе Republican Party, promised to preserve the historic face of Yerevan filling it with new buildings, if he is elected for the second term.
“It is impossible to build something new without preserving the past. This is the rule that we will follow to make our capital more beautiful,” he said.
Voting for the Republican Party of Armenia, people will vote for clean streets and yards, as well as good infrastructure, Margaryan added.
The election to the Yerevan Council is slated for May 5. Six parties and one bloc are running in the election. The Council will appoint Mayor of Yerevan.
