YEREVAN. – The banks in Armenia purchased $103.8 million and sold $109.6 million in the past week, the Central Bank informs.

The banks’ purchase of the US national currency grew by 17.8 percent, but its sale dropped by 1.6 percent as compared to the previous week; this was partially the reason why the dollar’s exchange rate had fell last week.

The Armenian dram loans, which the banks provided from April 1 to 7, constituted drams equivalent to approximately $80 million, and the US dollar loans made up $31.6 million. On a weekly basis, however, the loaning rates are below average.
