Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) former President Arkadi Ghukasyan denied the media information that he will be appointed the Minister of Defense of Armenia. Ghukasyan himself told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am. He sarcastically said as follows:

“If I am not mistaken, there is no position left in Armenia that I was not appointed to. I already have been PM, I became FM, I became Diaspora Minister, I became deputy PM and, now, the [position of the] Defense Minister remained. It is normal. There is no such thing; this is along those series.”

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, substantial changes are expected in the makeup of Armenia’s new government that will be formed soon, Zhamanak daily reported.

“According to our information NKR former President Arkadi Ghukasyan will be appointed Armenia’s new Minister of Defense.

According to Zhamanak’s information, [serving Defense Minister Seyran] Ohanyan will be designated Territorial Administration [TA] Minister.

But it could not be clarified so far as to what will happen to current TA Minister Armen Gevorgyan,” Zhamanak wrote.
