Economic recession in Armenia ended, said RA Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan Feb. 22, outlining that compared to January, 2009 the economic upturn of 2.1% is registered. “Last year technology and equipment of $30m was imported to the republic, meaning increase in productivity will be perceptible this year and the growth is entailed by this,” the minister stated.

According to him, construction sector keeps on the downturn. Asked why the Government aided capital development granting funds from eternal loans, Yeritsyan replied: “To avoid the social collapse. The Government tried to save construction sector, as could not allow it to fall down,” minister declared adding that the state expenditures will also assist the economic growth.
