YEREVAN.- The volume of natural gas supplies from Russia to Armenia in January-March this year increased by 7.8 percent as compared to last year making 667.7 million cubic meters.
During the reporting period 557.7 million cubic meters of natural gas were sold, which is 1 percent less than the same period last year, ArmRusgasprom said in a statement.
As compared to last year, consumption of natural gas by population decreased by 13.6 percent and by 8.8 percent - by other consumers.
However, in the first quarter of this year compared with last year, gas consumption increased by 1.3 percent in the energy sector and by 55.9 percent in the industrial sectors.
