YEREVAN. – Following the Armenian capital city Yerevan Council election to be conducted on May 5, the opposition Heritage Party-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc plans to first deal with the city’s transport, landscaping, and high-rise building issues. Heritage’s Executive Board Secretary Stiopa Safaryan stated this during a press conference on Monday.

Safaryan also noted that they plan to improve Yerevan’s system of governance.

“The Council sessions need to be broadcast online. In addition, the residents’ views should be considered in connection with an important matter for Yerevan, and referendums are required for this,” Stiopa Safaryan added.
