YEREVAN. – At present, the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party is satisfied with the course of its capital city Yerevan Council election campaign. ANC Spokesperson Arman Musinyan, who is third in the ANC list for the forthcoming election, stated this during a press conference on Thursday.

It is apparent that the ruling Republican [Party (RPA)] regime sees the Armenian National Congress as its  main target. [They] understand that they will lose in the case of fair elections, and [therefore] they started the process of election fraud,” Musinyan said.

The ANC spokesperson also informed that there is total hatred toward RPA and the body politic is prepared to vote for a non-governmental political force.

“The course of the election campaign shows that we are gradually surmounting the apathetic course,” he added.

Arman Musinyan also informed that they came across over a thousand citizens, in the election lists, which were registered in the regions during the recent presidential vote but now are registered in Yerevan, and they will vote in the city’s council election.

“Using the leverages of the passport service, RPA is indulged in hocus-pocus in the [election] lists,” the Armenian National Congress Party spokesperson concluded.
