YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who paid an official visit to Moscow on Friday, paid a visit to the Russian Federation (RF) MFA Diplomatic Academy, where he delivered a presentation on Armenia’s foreign policy and responded to the questions, the Armenian MFA press service informs.   

Prior to his presentation, however, Nalbandian met with Academy President Evgeny Bazhanov. The Armenian FM extended his thanks for preparing Armenian diplomats at the academy for already twenty years, and noted that many of the academy’s Armenian graduates have become ambassadors and they represent Armenia in numerous countries. Nalbandian and Bazhanov agreed to carry out closer cooperation between the Armenian MFA Diplomatic School and the RF MFA Diplomatic Academy. 

On the same day, Armenia’s FM met, at the Armenian Embassy in Moscow, with around three dozen countries’ ambassadors that are concurrently accredited in Armenia, and he presented them the main directions and priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy and the measures being taken toward ensuring regional security in the South Caucasus, and responded to the diplomats’ queries.    

In the latter half of the day, Edward Nalbandian visited the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) where, together with its President Anatoly Torkunov, he discussed the collaboration between the Armenian MFA Diplomatic School and MGIMO. In addition, Armenia’s FM and the MGIMO President attended the presentation of the MGIMO Armenian Graduates’ Club. Nalbandian extended his thanks to the initiative group and underscored the establishment of such organization.

In Moscow, Armenia’s FM also paid a visit to Interfax News Agency, where he met with Russia’s leading media executives. 

Ending his official visit to the RF capital city, Edward Nalbandian returned to Armenia on Friday evening.
