The 69th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) kicked off Monday in Bangkok, Thailand, and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Manasaryan attended the event.       

Manasaryan also addressed the session and, considering the objective of UNESCAP, he focused on the violation of the rights of landlocked countries, including Armenia.       

On Tuesday, Armenia’s deputy FM met with UNESCAP Executive Secretary, Ms. Noeleen Heyzer.  

The Executive Secretary thanked Armenia for its active involvement in the activities of UNESCAP, and expressed a hope that the cooperation will continue to expand.  

In his turn, Manasaryan stated that Armenia is always interested in interregional cooperation, and noted that the protection of the rights of landlocked countries is important for Armenia.  

The interlocutors reached an agreement on coordinating the future steps, which will ensure Armenia’s maximum engagement in the programs of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
