YEREVAN. – Citizens with disabilities are mainly deprived of an opportunity to vote in the Yerevan municipal elections just as it happened during the previous vote, Unison NGO said.
Head of the NGO Armen Alaverdyan stressed that even small technical problems had not been solved.
Alaverdyan noted that 85 percent of polling stations were inaccessible to people with disabilities, 9 percent are accessible, and only 6 percent are fully accessible.
As of 1pm, only 2-3 percent of people with disabilities cast their ballot in Yerevan Council elections. He also mentioned shortcomings in Braille ballot papers designed for the voters with impaired vision.
