YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) denied media information on its member’s involvement in a precinct fight during Sunday’s Yerevan Council of Elders election.

According to the aforesaid media information, PAP representative Jivan Poghosyan entered a precinct and attempted to interfere with the election process. The precinct commission chairman, however, did not permit Poghosyan to interfere and told him that he had no right to be in the polling station. After a shoving match inside the precinct, they subsequently went outside and continued the fight in the courtyard.

But PAP National Assembly Faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan informed that she had spoken with Poghosyan, and he told her that there was no fighting or shoving. According to the PAP representative, there was only a slight problem concerning the interpretation of the law, and they had talked and everything was settled.
