YEREVAN. – The Armenian Police are preparing reports in connection with 38 cases of election irregularities, which were reported as of 4pm in Sunday’s capital city Yerevan Council of Elders election.
Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed about the aforesaid from the Police official website.
According to this information, there are additional reports to those that were received as of 3pm. The new reports include:
There were large groups and money was distributed with a vehicle at some election precincts; a ruling Republican Party member of the current Council of Elders was constantly nearby the commission members of a precinct, and he was asked to leave several times, but to no avail; there were arguments at some precincts and the police were unable to settle them; money was distributed, in favor of the non-government Prosperous Armenia Party, from a vehicle at the courtyard of a building; a young man was distributing money across a precinct; a young man was giving money to 2-3 women; there was an empty envelope in a voting booth, and a citizen gave this envelope to the precinct commission members; scuffles occurred among the members of a precinct commission.
A respective investigation is launched.
