YEREVAN. – Tamara Poghosyan, who was sixth in the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) list for Sunday’s capital city Yerevan Council of Elders election, refrains from commenting on the voting results.
Poghosyan herself told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Incidentally, PAP MP Vahe Enfiajyan on Sunday likewise had refrained from making any assessments on the election outcome.
The PAP representative told Armenian News-NEWS.am that as long as the final results are not issued and the political forces have not announced their respective positions, he prefers to refrain from making any comments.
To note, the Central Electoral Commission on Monday issued the preliminary results of Sunday’s voting. In line with this outcome, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, the non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party, and the opposition “Barev, [Hello] Yerevan” bloc will comprise the new Council of Elders of Yerevan.
Opposition Armenian National Congress Party, opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party, coalition government’s Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party, and Arakelutyun (Mission) Party, on the other hand, did not pass the 6-percent threshold to become members in the Yerevan Council of Elders.
