YEREVAN. – A coalition between the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia (PA) has always existed.

PA formally withdrew from the coalition to create an illusion of existence of the opposition, political analyst Arkady Vardanyan said.

“Speaking about the relations between the RPA and PA, we must never forget that both parties are focused on one goal, are inseparable and will always remain so,” he said during the Tuesday news conference.

PA was the second in the elections to the Council of Elders, just as in the parliamentary elections, and it will last forever.

“If PA were a real opposition party, it formed a clear ideology and acted in the interests of the people, it would have never received 22-23 percent in the elections,” he added.

As regards Heritage party, the analyst said that after April 9, this party has ceased to exist as a political force and will no longer play any role in Armenia’s political life.
