YEREVAN. – Firemen working at the site of a huge fire in at Spayka Company in Armenia’s capital started demolishing the wall of the building to ensure direct access to fire (photos).

The representative of the Armenian Rescue Service Hovhannes Yemishyan told reporters that 26 units of special equipment are operating at the site. The water tank trucks are providing an uninterrupted supply of water.

“Firemen will make explosions in order to open the windows in the burning building. Cause of the fire has not been determined. It would be revealed after an investigation is completed,” he said.

As to the injured fireman, Yemishyan said his life is not in danger.

The Minister of Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, has personally arrived in the scene.

To note, the fire started on Wednesday at 11:58pm. In line with preliminary data, Spayka Company’s three-story building, with a surface area of 4,500 square meters, is completely on fire.
