We must ensure that the rights of the individuals are protected throughout the area under the responsibility of the Council of Europe (CoE).

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated the aforesaid, on Thursday in Strasbourg, France, addressing the meeting of the foreign affairs ministers of the CoE-member countries.

“In the context of strengthening the impact of the Council of Europe activities toward promoting and defending democracy, human rights and rule of law, we must ensure that the rights of the individuals are protected throughout the area under the responsibility of the Council of Europe, regardless of the status of those areas where they live.

“To promote its fundamental values and precepts, the organization should consider the possibility of an approach that does not depend on the status,” Nalbandian stressed.
