YEREVAN. – The identity-card (ID)-reading devices, which the Government of Armenia has acquired, will be provided to the organizations (beneficiaries) at the cost price of 3,500 drams (approx. $8.40).

But these devices will be distributed to state authorities free of charge. The Government has adopted a decision to this effect.

To note, money was allocated from the 2012 state budget to acquire 20,000 such devices, which were sold to private organizations likewise for 3,500 drams.

In February, the Government allocated an additional amount to obtain 20,000 more devices that read identity cards.
