YEREVAN. – Twenty percent of Armenia’s population is poor, the middle class makes up about 10 percent, and the 70 percent are people with a “floating income,” Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.  

“The International Labour Organization issued such data. Based on such indicators, Armenia is classified in the group of countries that have a population with a below-average income.

In Georgia, which is in the same group, 38 percent of the population is poor, the middle class is 12 percent, and the people with a ‘floating income,’ about 50 percent. 

In Azerbaijan, 22 percent of the population is poor, the middle class is 18 percent, and the remaining close to 60 percent are people with a ‘floating income,’” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
