YEREVAN. – The heads of Spanish Isolux Corsan and French Safege have been invited to Armenia to be informed about grave violations discovered during the inspection of construction works at North-South Road Corridor.

During the hearings on implementation of the 2012 budget, Deputy Transport Minister Hrant Beglaryan spoke about ongoing construction works. He said the question of termination of contract is not on the agenda but  certain conditions are set before the foreign companies. If the conditions are not met, the contract can be terminated.

G. Beglaryan said that French and Spanish companies have a good reputation around the world, while Isolux Corsan is one of the twenty largest road construction companies in the world.

North-South Road Corridor crosses the territory of Armenia from the South to the North including Agarak-Kapan-Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highways and road infrastructures and is linked to the Georgian road network leading to Poti and Batumi ports. North-South Road Corridor is 556 km-long and its implementation period is from 2009 to 2017.
