The ongoing developments in Turkey can become a positive step for development of democracy in the country. But on condition that Premier Erdogan will make concessions, former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza said.
He noted that Erdogan wants to show that he is the only authoritative leader in the country, but he forgets that the opinion of the opposition must be taken into account in the democratic society.
“Erdogan should realize that half of the voters in Turkey did not vote for him. Every view should be paid attention to in the democratic society. But I consider that the ongoing processes are not Turkish spring,” Bryza told reporters in Baku.
