YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly is discussing Friday the draft amendments to the Law on Organizing Funerals and Using Cemeteries and Crematoriums.    

The talks continue in the full-capacity hall, and this occurs very rarely, even during the budget discussions. Numerous NGO representatives and international experts are invited to these talks.

In the words of coalition government’s junior partner, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party MP Hovhannes Margaryan, who introduced the draft law, this domain needs a clear overseeing and responsible public body. But perhaps the most important matter is the permit to establish private cemeteries in Armenia.
