YEREVAN. – A grove in Polish capital city Warsaw was named Armenian Grove.
Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, and the other members of the visiting Armenian delegation were on hand at the event.
The Warsaw City Council had decided to name this grove as such, and as a sign of the Armenian-Polish friendship, the Yerevan Municipality Information and Public Relations Department informs.
During the ceremony, a pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church blessed the Armenian cross-stone, which is placed at the grove and which is Armenia’s gift to Warsaw.
Following the event, Margaryan spoke with representatives of the Armenian community in Warsaw. He informed them that Yerevan and Warsaw have signed a memorandum of intentions, and he proposed the local Armenians to get actively involved in the programs to be implemented.
