YEREVAN. – Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski’s statement does not express the view of the entire European Union (EU) in terms of Armenia’s economic preferences.

Noravank Analytical Center Director Gagik Harutyunyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, the document—which is slated to be signed during the EU Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in November—has no specification whereby Armenia cannot develop economic relations with other countries.

“Armenia takes steps on the basis of its national interests, and it can make the right choice. Incidentally, the Russian side manifests a more liberal approach toward the Customs Union and other matters,” Harutyunyan noted.

He also stressed that the Polish side looks toward the signing of the Armenia-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area agreement.

“The approach of the President of Armenia is important, and not the demeanor of the President of Poland,” the political scientist stated.
