Lithuania’s President Dalia Grybauskaitė said that leaked records of the Lithuanian diplomats’ alleged phone conversations are provocation against her country and its presidency of the EU Council.
Lithuanian President noted that the incident is a provocation against Lithuania when the country is preparing an Eastern Partnership meeting in November, delfi.lt reported. Dalia Grybauskaitė stressed that the content of the conversation is unprofessional.
“On the other hand, I would estimate this conversation as very unprofessional and immature for the diplomatic service,” she said, adding that it would be a good lesson for diplomats.
The records are said to have been uploaded to YouTube.com on July 8, in one of which two Lithuanian diplomats are said to be involved in a conversation.
It is said that the diplomats’ conversation took place at 12:50pm on April 4.
The men in the recording are having an informal conversation about Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, personal opinions on the conflict between the two countries, Azerbaijanis’ and Armenians’ active participation in the resolution of issues related to them at the MFA, as well as the establishment of a group of friendship with Nagorno-Karabakh in the Lithuanian Seimas.
