EU is set to develop cooperation with Armenia despite the country preferred the Customs Union, Štefan Füle said.

European Commission is ready for new forms of cooperation with Armenia, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy said during Yalta European Strategy forum.

He noted that Armenia remains an active participant of the Eastern Partnership project and continues reforms proposed by the EU representatives, RIA Novosti reported.

Following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. Earlier it was planned that Armenia will sing Association Agreement and agreement on DCFTA during the Vilnius summit in November.
