YEREVAN. – Prior to the regular session of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is in the Russian city of Sochi on a working visit, on Monday met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.     

The interlocutors discussed bilateral and multilateral interaction, informs the Office of the President of Armenia.

They stressed that the frequent high-level meetings and the cooperation between the agencies of both countries contribute to the enrichment of interstate relations.      

Sargsyan and Lukashenko reflected on the prospects for the development of economic cooperation between the two Customs Union member states, once Armenia joins this union. They also discussed the avenues for Belarus’ assistance toward Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. 

In addition, the presidents of Armenia and Belarus underscored the Belarusian-Armenian community’s role in the strengthening of bilateral relations.
