YEREVAN. – Armenian state service of food safety does not perform its functions to the fullest, head of the NGO said.

Babken Pipoyan, Chairman of Informed and Protected Consumer NGO, Babken Pipoyan recalled that the service is a structure of the Agricultural Ministry, but had not made any ground-breaking research this year.

“No attempts were made to record the gaps of the business entities,” Pipoyan added.

Serious violations were detected by media or NGOs, and only after that the service starts “to do something,” he said.
