YEREVAN. – The economic activity index of Armenia grew by 3.2 percent from January to September 2013, as compared with the same time period last year, the National Statistical Service informs.

Nonetheless, the aforesaid indicator is the country’s lowest economic activity level so far this year.  

As compared to January-September 2012, this year’s industrial growth constituted 7 percent, the agricultural growth was 5.5 percent, and the service sector recorded a 2.8-percent growth. The volume of construction, however, dropped by 9.2 percent.

The September trade turnover made up AMD 212.4 billion (approx. $523,482,922), and this was below last month’s respective indicator by 0.9 percent.

Between January and September 2013, the production of electricity in Armenia dropped by 4.1 percent, as compared to the same time period last year. Electricity supply to Iran reduced, too.  

The average monthly wage in Armenia constituted AMD 150,100 (approx. $370) in August 2013, and this was a 0.3-percent drop as compared to the previous month.
